Spectrum Insurance was established in 2007 by Darrel Zaleski. Since its founding, our agency has expanded its services, offering a broad range of personal and business insurance coverages through its 24 office locations throughout the United States and Minnesota.
Through continuous dedication, quality coverage, and service, our agency has formulated into one of the largest and most successful agencies throughout the United States. Founded on a simple philosophy of hard work, loyalty, and aggressive representation, we continue that oath today.

1997
Our insurance agency was founded as the Bridgeview Agency, a franchise of The Murphy Insurance Group in Chippewa Falls, WI.

2007
The Bridgeview Agency in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin—originally founded in 1997—was purchased by Darrel Zaleski and renamed Spectrum Insurance Group.
Spectrum Benefit Solutions was established to provide employee benefits and human resource consulting services to business clients.
Spectrum purchased the Small Business Division of RJF Agencies and opened a second office in Eau Claire. We hired the RJF employees to continue to service the accounts.

2008
Spectrum Insurance Group bought the Eau Claire branch of RJF Agencies – Private Client Group and gained the expertise to offer personal insurance.

2009
Spectrum acquired the BMW Insurance Agency in Eau Claire.
An office in Weston was opened with six former Wausau Insurance employees, bringing immense expertise in commercial and benefits insurance.
Spectrum also opened an office in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

2013
Spectrum opened offices in Tomah and Madison, Wisconsin.

2014
The Wisconsin Valley Region expanded with the addition of Fehrenbach/Moggs & Associates, Inc., based in Wisconsin Rapids.

2016
Spectrum opened offices in Fond du Lac, Onalaska, and Pewaukee. The Fond du Lac office joined the Wisconsin Valley Region.
The Onalaska addition brought deep knowledge of commercial agriculture insurance.

2018
Spectrum acquired Midwestern Risk Advisors, relocating the Weston office to Wausau.
Spectrum also acquired Lester & Smart, Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids.

2019
Spectrum acquired the Sandeen Agency in Hudson, Wisconsin, from John and Meme Fehr.
Killey Insurance in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, owned by John Killey, was acquired by Spectrum, adding more business and a wealth of knowledge in personal insurance.
Spectrum acquired T.I.S. Ltd. in Weyauwega, Wisconsin, from Jim and Jeanna Biddison. The T.I.S. team brought strong specialization in transportation insurance.

2020
Spectrum acquired Mayville Insurance Agency in Mayville, Wisconsin, from Brad and Cindy Steinbach, who remain active with their team. This acquisition established the Kettle Moraine Region.
Spectrum also acquired the Bill Beichl Agency, with employees joining the Wisconsin Rapids office.

2021
Spectrum acquired Smith and Hatch Insurance from Bill Hatch, adding offices in Eden and Kewaskum to the Kettle Moraine Region. Bill became a partner with Spectrum Insurance.

2022
Spectrum acquired Carrier Insurance in La Crosse, Wisconsin, from Randy Eddy Jr. The team continues to operate out of the Carrier Insurance building.
Spectrum acquired Chumas Insurance Agency in Eau Claire from owner Jim Chumas.
Spectrum acquired Buska & Buska Insurance in Wausau, with their team joining Spectrum’s existing Wausau office.

2023
Spectrum acquired Thomas Benefit Planning in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, from Thomas Wagner. The benefits team continues to operate from its existing location.
Spectrum Insurance Group opened its first office in Minnesota, expanding our services in Commercial, Benefits, and Personal Insurance, located in Rochester, MN.

2024
Spectrum acquired Northbrook Insurance Associates in Slinger, Wisconsin, from Robert “Bob” Butzke. The team continues operating in Slinger, and three employees became partners in the newly formed Northbrook Region.
Spectrum acquired Cowles-Henke-Kemmel Insurance Agency in Oakfield and Brownsville, Wisconsin, adding strong personal lines expertise to the Kettle Moraine Region.
The Weyauwega office closed in April 2024; however, all employees remain part of Spectrum and continue to work remotely to support clients.
Spectrum acquired The Bottelberghe Agency in Onalaska, Wisconsin, following the retirement of Rich Bottelberghe.

2025
In November 2025, the Tomah office closed its doors. All employees are now based out of the Eau Claire office, with most continuing to work remotely. Spectrum proudly continues to serve the Tomah area with the same level of care and commitment.
